MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
WELCOME!
More than just a tournament...
The 11th Annual GTA Celebrity Golf Classic incorporates two days of activities designed to
raise awareness and support for the invaluable Early Learning and After School programs at the
Greater Trinity Academy (now Rise Up Academy). While we were unable to hold our
tournament in 2020, and our tournament last year was scaled back, we expect to be back fully
this year! The importance of the work that we are doing is now greater than ever. Covid-19 has
put our education system in a crisis state. We won’t know for years the impact that the last year
has had on our students. To that end, our goal is the same: To reverse the downward
educational trend that has been the legacy of too many students in Snohomish County and the
surrounding areas.
The Academy is comprised of children from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds. Some of the
children have experienced significant learning difficulties, but at the Greater Trinity/Rise Up
Academy, we are committed to addressing the challenges any child faces.
Our school has served over 1,500 students in the greater Everett community during its first 23 years of operation. We want to double that number in the next ten years! Raising support is essential to help us achieve this goal.
Most of our students are from families with limited incomes. Currently the difference between the actual cost of running our program averages more than $300 per child per month more than the sliding tuition and the needs-based support provided by state and federal programs.
Please join us in a celebration of community service and help us to keep the doors open for children who need a safe, structured educational environment with the confidence to say, “I Can Learn Anything!”
Sincerely,
Dr. Paul A. Stoot, Sr.
